If you’re a product of the golden era Hip Hop generation you’re familiar with Jimmy Castor whether you realize it or not. Sampled by many artists including the Beastie Boys, N.W.A., Eric B. & Rakim, and Kanye West, his band the Jimmy Castor Bunch produced iconic songs like Troglodyte (Cave Man) and the more famously known It’s Just Begun.

Funk and soul singer, songwriter, bandleader, saxophonist, and percussionist Jimmy Castor died yesterday in Las Vegas at the age of 64.
